Disappointments happen—we just have to learn to accept them. The funny thing about life is that things don't always go according to plan. The earlier we realize this, the better for us. It saves us a lot of time and unnecessary wailing. The truth is, we're bound to win some and lose some—and that's perfectly okay. It shows that your journey is a healthy one.
Failure happens to the best of us, and finding our way around it is the real deal. First, look for the cause of that shortfall. It could be your fault; other factors may have been at play. But the good news is, we get to learn from these mistakes and come back better. There's a tendency to judge ourselves through the lens of that particular failure, but our mistakes don't define us—they're only proof that a better and improved version of us exists. It doesn't mean we're not good or excellent; it's only telling us that we can achieve success—and even more—when we decide to move past that setback and grow. Tell yourself that you'll be better. Challenge yourself to do greater things. There's always room for a dramatic comeback.

How we feel in the face of failure and disappointment is legit. However, remember: that feeling is only going to last a short while. When you're done, get up, dust yourself off, and get back to work. The clock is ticking, and the world awaits our becoming. Failure is not an excuse.
You probably need this assurance: You may feel disappointed now, but you'll be fine. One day, you'll look back and appreciate the process—every bit of it. The same people who judge and criticize you today because of that shortfall will cheer you on tomorrow for your excellence. Stay blessed, eagle. You're on the right track.
